I expressed earlier the reasons I stopped sharing genocide awareness content. A personal reminder that the west is not short of awareness nor will I attempt to do their work in neutralising their dehumanisation of our people by showing more number and more blood. Last but not least, to remind myself that self-liberation through armed resistance is the most noble way of liberation and boycotts are the truest form of activism.
Nevertheless, I still condemn the silence of my European peers. And I can't help but think, what if I chose to be more vocal? How can I ever be louder than the echoing silence of my German and Austrian peers during the last 140 days of history's most documented genocide, in which they are directly aiding and funding?
“As of Nov. 2, the German government has approved the export of close to 303 million euros' ($323 million) worth of defence equipment to Israel. By comparison, 32 million euros' worth of defence exports were approved in all of 2022.“ - Reuters.
All the while, simultaneously flooding my social media feed and swamping their streets with their protesting "day-trips," loudly opposing the far-right neo-Nazi AfD and the uprise of anti-immigrant discussions in their political parties on January 20th.
It’s the logic of a mass murderer that only kills outside their own home to not stain his own carpet. The same sick paradox of USA’s Guantanamo Bay detention centre, Constructed to crumble all the human rights they globally preach but located outside their “land of the free“. Attributing the crime of Guantanamo Bay to Cuba rather than Uncle Sam is as naive as Germans advocating integrity and opposing anti-immigrant sentiments within their borders while staying silent on another genocide they are complicit in. Domestic liberal prestige does not exonerate Germany‘s connivance in Gaza just because it‘s overseas.
In other words, breaking your preached values and ethics in your self-created incognito tab does not exonerate your sins.
It is hard to digest the irony and I never thought I‘d despise an anti-immigrant opposing movement as an African/Arab/Muslim European.
As much as many Germans spoke against their country's stance and complicity in Gaza, and disregarding those who did not, how can one still be bolder than their carnival floats? How can one be more influential than their public schools?
