Economic inflation survival wallet.
This wallet made from my nephew's old floaties is a mocking expression of the current global economic inflation. The visual pun is even more metaphoric in Arabic highlighting especially Egypt's current "currency flotation" state. The economic term in Arabic "تعويم العملة" literally translates to "floating the currency" or in Egyptian interpretation more specifically "تعويم الجنيه" as "swimming the pound".
Caffè Lungo
Caffè Lungo
Caffè Lungo is a series of 36 consecutive shots on Ilford H5 400 film, taken during my last month living in Rome. Each shot captures a different caffe lungo I ordered in bars across the Eternal City—from my regular tiny spot near home to the bustling city center, all the way to the shores of Ostia, and finally, a farewell lungo at Rome's Fiumicino Airport.
This project is my first experiment with film photography, primarily intended to test different aperture settings and explore their limits. I carefully noted each setting in my notebook to help study and refine my approach. The series was shot on a very basic and leaky Fujica AX-1, which I attempted to seal with tape-though not entirely successfully.
A selected bunch.
Cheap blood is a performative marker bombing out of my frustration over how cheap the blood of my people in Gaza and Lebanon is to people around here. A reminder to the western society that the only cheap blood should have been the one in a mosquito’s belly.
Bololo…
Problem:
I want a pair of color-mismatched Nike Vapors™ without having to buy two pairs in different colors. To do this, I need to find someone who is the same shoe size as me and wants the same bizarre thing.
First solution: Print an A4 poster and wheat-paste it around my neighborhood.
Result:
Failure. It's really challenging to catch the attention of my target audience with an A4 sheet of paper in a media-saturated city full of a hustle-and-bustle crowd, especially while trying to explain this whole concept. The fact that the poster is in English in an Italian city doesn't help my case either
Re-editing the poster:
Result: N/A
—unexecuted.
This is not a GRWM video nor a fashion statement!
In this film I express but primarily get my hands on set design and experiment with color grading and editing
